So many students tell me that they want to increase their flexibility and what they mean is MORE flexibility in the backs of their legs so that they can easily fold forward and progress into more challenging yoga postures. In this yoga class, we focus on strengthening and lengthening the hamstrings so that you can increase your flexibility safely. We begin by building heat in our legs, hips, and spine. Then we get into a low lunge with dynamic stretching back into runner’s stretch… a KILLER hamstring stretch! Next, we move into a standing intense hamstring stretch before finishing in a wide-legged forward fold. This whole yoga sequence is great for beginners, athletes, and anyone who has tight hamstrings, hips, and calves.
