Iyengar is an alignment-based style of yoga. There is no focus on flowing between poses like in the Vinyasa classes. Rather you hold your poses for longer. Also unique to Iyengar is the use of a variety of props, such as blocks, straps, and blankets, to make sure you find the correct posture in each pose. This type of yoga is best suited for people seeking detailed instruction, or those with injuries that might limit their movement.
